Its hard not to fall in love with the white sand and aquamarine waters of this archipelago. Many islands are still out of reach for tourists, and hence, unexploited. The resorts that dot the coastline of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu have a variety of beach bars.

Cloud 9

This floating double-deck at Ro Ro Reef is among the must-visit destinations in Fiji islands. You can prior-book paddleboards or take jet ski rides to Monuriki islands, where Tom Hanks-starrer Castaway was shot. Maybe you could watch the movie once more before heading here. On request, Cloud 9 makes arrangements for parasailing as well.

The bar at Cloud 9 offers signature beers like Fiji Gold, Fiji Bitter and delicious wood-fire pizzas in vegetarian and non-vegetarian variants. You can also request for a gluten-free pizza. While you await your pizza, go snorkelling or simply soak in the relaxed atmosphere of the sundeck. Cloud 9 has visiting DJs once a week and can accommodate 100 guests on its deck at a time.

The bar also prides itself as a zero-carbon-emitting facility as it uses solar power. Castaway in the middle of turquoise waters, the double-deck also transports its waste back to the main land each day to ensure the ocean environs arent polluted. On prior booking, the double-deck venue can also be hired for a wedding.

Sundowner bar and grill

Sigatoka Valley is referred to as the vegetable and fruit bowl of the Fiji islands. Its here that most of the inhabited islands (Fiji has 333 islands, of which around 100 are inhabited) get their produce from. So its no surprise that we spot a number of cocktails with fruity notes at Sundowner, Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort. These include the strawberry and vanilla martini, pineapple flirtini and sunsoaked stargazer, which has notes of apple and cinnamon, apart from a selection of wines.

One can stop by for breakfast, lunch and dinner, or after a walk on the beach spotting corals. Omelettes, waffles and smoothies are offered for breakfast. In the late afternoons and early evenings, the bar attracts many guests who are there to take in the brilliant sunset. While there, try the coconut and basil prawns or spiced Indian Bombay chicken pizza topped with roasted cashew and vegetables. The chefs here recommend the beef cuts which the resort sources from Cape Grim, Australia. Since the property attracts guests visiting the islands with their families, the bar also has a special menu for children.

Malalo Beach Bar

The bar at Malolo Island Resort is famed for its breathtaking views of sunset and unhindered view of the ocean. The resort is on Malolo island, in Mamanuca archipelago. The island is accessible by a seaplane from the airport or a private water taxi from Denarau port. At Malolo, guests stay in Fijian-styled accommodation called bure. Typically, a bure is a cabin made of wood and straw. The beach bar is also styled like one. Guests are encouraged to go in barefoot after a walk along the sandy beach or after a session of snorkelling. The bar is more of a café, open 11.30 am onwards, and offers salads, pizzas, beer-battered fish and grills. The café factors in specific dietary preferences, and on request, offers custom-made dishes for vegans, children and for those with nut allergies.

Try Fiji specials like spicy Fijian buffalo wings, beef meatballs in tomato sauce, Malolo beach pizza and Malolo steak sandwiches. Fiji special cocktails and mocktails are all there, and in addition, try the Malolo special coffees. The beach bar prides itself in offering house-made sorbets and ice creams.
